Volunteerism

Starting on October 8th at 11:30 am and lasting until October 15th at 3 pm, we will be collecting food and items to donate to the Comet Cupboard. From their web page

"The Comet Cupboard is a UT Dallas food pantry initiative

dedicated to helping students in need. Its primary mission

is to provide necessary food and personal care items to

members of the UT Dallas community, but its impact

reaches much further. The Comet Cupboard acts as a service

learning component of the undergraduate academic

experience and strives to cultivate a campus culture where

the community is valued above individualism."

Please bring any food items to Professor Richardson's office, located at JSOM 14.401, Mondays & Wednesdays between 11:30am - 3pm. You can also give your donations to Chris Wickham if you're not available during those hours. Just email him here to let him know and arrange a time to pick up your donation. Let's show how much heart GIS has to give!

If possible, please bring an item or two from their list of Needed Items!

Have a pair of slacks that don't quite fit anymore? Have a button shirt, belt, or tie that you haven't worn in ages?

Starting on September 24th at 11:30 am and lasting until October 1st at 3 pm, we will be collecting new or gently used business attire for men and women to donate to the Comet Closet. From their web page

"The Comet Closet seeks to supply students with business

professional and business casual attire. Our purpose is to

help students land interviews for their first internship(s)

and/or job(s). If donating items, please consider condition,

age, current fashion, and the working business environment."
