  • Spurgin Insurance Agency | Full Time (May work part time until graduation?)

    • From an education standpoint, a prospective employee will need to have a firm knowledge of the insurance coverages.  We would prefer to find a student who has completed several of your courses that will transfer to having  completed  a majority  of the CPCU sections, if that is possible. This should bring them to a level that we are not having to train them in the insurance basics. It will also show evidence of their capability and desire to pursue a career in the agency business. My assumption is this would be student that is  close to graduating.

    • Fom a skills standpoint we need the employee to have a strong knowledge of Excel and Word software. We will have to train the person on are agency software.

    • It is not necessary that they express a desire to sell insurance, as our as most pressing need is customer service with our current insureds.  This would be someone who would enjoy dealing with our customers by phone, answer the client's questions, process the needed coverage changes that the client is requesting,  prepare a renewal submission for the current insured or  complete the  underwriting/marketing applications for a new risk or the renewal submission for a current insured.

    • A  strong work ethic, the abililty to focus on details, while efficiently moving from one request or inquiry to another is important.
